青梵ギャラリー4周年特別企画　11/22～

特別企画『SUPER CRAZY COLLECTION』
＆　4周年大感謝SALE開催！

11月22日から東京府中の青梵ギャラリーにて、4周年特別企画『SUPER CRAZY COLLECTION』として望月昭氏の蒐集品を展示販売致します。

望月氏は東京農大とデンマークのロイヤルアカデミーで造園・環境設計学を修了し、国内外でランドスケープアーキテクトとして活躍。その他マングローブ植林のNGO活動やエッセイの執筆、武蔵野美術大学でも教鞭をとるなど多才で得も言われぬ魅力のある御仁。

学生時代に当時占領下だった沖縄を訪れたことからまだ見ぬ文化とその土地の民藝に魅せられ、留学先や赴任先のヨーロッパ諸国、中東やマリアナ諸島、東南アジア等、数々の国や地域を訪れ、その時、その場所での感動をスケッチし、これぞと思うものをバックパックへ。
カトマンズの巡礼者に路銀を乞われて代わりに貰った上着も、中国の大老から頂戴した新石器時代の石像も、エクアドルで見つけた俑片も、北海道の友から贈られた木彫の熊も、諸国の絵画やジャズやポップスのレコードも。国境を超えてあらゆる文化が入り乱れた氏のコレクションからは純粋な物への興味と冷めやらぬ好奇心が伝わってきます。

会期中には望月氏自らのガイドツアーも開催予定。詳細は追ってお知らせいたします。

4th anneversary special event
SUPER CRAZY COLLECTION

Akira Mochizuki, who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Arts with a degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, has worked as a landscape architect both domestically and internationally. This time, we are exhibiting and selling his collection as part of Seibon Gallery’s 4th Anniversary Special Project, ‘SUPER CRAZY COLLECTION’.

In 1964, he visited Okinawa under occupation, followed by Taiwan the next year. Captivated by various cultures and their folk art, he traveled extensively—to European countries during his studies, to the Middle East, Mariana Islands, and Southeast Asia for work assignments, and countless other destinations including private trips. He sketched his impressions of each place and moment, packing his backpack with pieces that truly resonated. From the coat he received in exchange for money given to a pilgrim in Kathmandu, to the Neolithic stone statue gifted by a Chinese elder, the pottery shards found in Ecuador, the wooden carved bear presented by a friend in Hokkaido, to paintings from various countries and jazz and pop records. His collection, a vibrant mix of cultures crossing borders, conveys a pure fascination with objects and an unquenchable curiosity.

Guided tours by Mr. Mochizuki himself are scheduled during the exhibition period. Details will be announced later.
